'Skin' awarded at Palm Springs

Yay! He Took His Skin Off For Me was awarded Runner Up for the Alexis award at the Palm Springs International Film Festival & ShortFest this Sunday. Yes I could have gone with a better picture from the night, but I thought that was the sort of face that summed it all up. Congratulations to the entire Skin team and all the other wonderful winning films at the festival. We have a tonne more exciting bits of news we're not allowed to announce yet, but keep your eyes glued, we're almost certainly coming to a city near you!

'Skin' to premiere at Palm Springs Shortest 2014

I'm proud to finally announce that 'He Took His Skin Off For Me' will premiere at the Palm Springs International Shortfest 2014 on on Friday, June 20 - 5:00 pm - Camelot Theatres as part of the 'Things We Do For Love' program. I will be there to do a QnA after the screening so if your anywhere in the area swing by and meet up! Palm Springs is an oscar and bafta qualifying festival and an awesome place to check out exciting shorts, including premieres from actors-turned director Chiwetel Ejiofor and Taylor Kitsch. Should be exciting!

Russian Roulette wins Jury Prize for Sundance London shorts competition

OH WOW. This is pretty amazing. 'Russian Roulette' won the Jury Prize for the Sundance London short competition... thingy. You can read about it here in ScreenDaily. The a theme of the competition was ‘Making a go of it’ which kind of sums up the whole film really! Writer Oli Fenton and I even found ourselves in the Evening Standard. All very odd indeed for a film we just made to let off some steam...

We're going to SPACE!

Currently in post production on both 'He Took His Skin Off For Me' and an additional shot short written by Oli Fenton called 'Russian Roulette'. The flick is about a lonely young woman (comedian Bec Hill) who meets a libidinous Russian astronaut (Stewart Lockwood) on chatroullette.com.  We wanted to create something fun that could find its way online as soon as its finished. Can't wait to unleash it on you guys.

Latest Music Video 'Polygonn' Released!

REALLY proud of this fun little video I directed with wild-man animator Nick Black for the Bishops new single 'Polygonn'-

The video is a hand drawn rotoscope animation composed of over 2,500 individual illustrations. Animator Nick Black spent over 6 months tracing each frame from the original live action footage onto paper in a technique called "rotoscoping" - with 12 drawings representing a second of footage. We then photographed these drawings and let them run in order to create the video you see here. We made a making-of here-

Hey Mum! I'm on the Radio!

I joined the lovely Brad Brevet and Leremy Legal of the Rope Of Silicon 'B&L' Podcast to talk about my new film 'He Took His Skin Off For Me'. They ask all the tough questions, like how much dubsteb will the soundtrack include. I've uploaded the extract above but you can check out the full podcast here- http://www.ropeofsilicon.com/podcast-pacific-rim-grown-ups-2-sharknado-fruitvale-station-review/
